They present experimental results regarding a transmission chain experiment in which participants had to make use of a slide whistle:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cognitionandculture.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/whistle.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3165\" src=\"http:\/\/cognitionandculture.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/whistle-300x79.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"79\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cognitionandculture.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/whistle-300x79.png 300w, https:\/\/cognitionandculture.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/whistle.png 873w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2026to learn and reproduce sounds representing novel objects. Their focus is on the emergence of combinatorial structure in this whistling \u201clanguage\u201d and the interaction thereof with the possibility to create rather iconic form-meaning pairings, which was manipulated experimentally.
